A New Year, A Growing Journey

Have you every heard the phrase “without change there would be no butterflies” ?

Well, this is what this year is all about: change. We literally went from 0 to 100 real quick with this pandemic and I’m sure that the year looked very different for many people. For me, it was a year of stress and struggle, but it was also filled with growth and clarity. I became more aware of what I want to accomplish in the future and who I want to surround myself with going forward. I met some amazing people, but I also let go of a lot of people that had played a significant role in my life. I also let go of a few habits holding me back from reaching my full potential and like every year, I grew closer with the people that have influenced me in the best ways possible. Before we become butterflies, before we find our true selves, before we reach our higher selves, we must first accept that change is always going to happen. It is inevitable and it happens to us all the time. While change may bring hardships, it is our job to not let it hold us back. This year is just as much about consistency as it is about setting new goals. Try not to focus so much on setting big goals and put your time and energy on creating and accomplishing small steppingstones that will ultimately lead to your biggest goal whether you get to it in 2021 or 2022. Some of those steppingstones may simply be not allowing negativity into your space, or it may look like you forgiving someone for something they did, or perhaps you accepting yourself for the person you are. For others, those steppingstones may look like finally finishing the book you started or finally exploring that business idea you've had in your head for so long but never thought you could do it. Start the year with reflecting on all the good things that came out of 2020, and then run with that. Let that fuel you and give you confidence, but don't be afraid to seek guidance sometimes.

Be strong. Have faith. Persevere. Trust the process. Be consistent in this.

When the time is right, you will grow into your whole self and be the butterfly you were always meant to be. The butterfly that always lived in you.

Happy New Year 🎆🎊
