Until It's Over

Can we make every step a big one?

Run through the streets in the rain,

ride around when we shouldn’t be,

size my hand against yours for nothing,

talk about our dreams and our future

as if we will both fit in each others

the way your body falls into my crevices.

Can we forget that society says

We have to choose?

Can we just be?

Can I just slip up on to you like a summer breeze, laugh day and night,

kiss you forever until it’s over?

and I know that it will be over sometime,

and I guess it’s the pessimism in me but

I think I’ll want you anyway,

for now, until it’s over,

and when it is,
